Tatva

The journey so far...

It all started in the winters of 2005, the first time Anurag met Aditya and Amit. Being in the same college was an advantage for them as they could meet up and jam whenever they could. On December 20, 2005, Tatva played its first show at the Vivekananda College, Chembur. Tatva at that time comprised of Amit on drums, Anurag on vocals, Aditya on guitars and Sarthak on vocals. With just four members on stage, the band still rocked the listeners and managed to get back some ‘once-more’ cheers too.
A few days later, a very close friend of the band, came up with a concert organized by the Times Group in Mumbai. The band immediately registered for it and began practicing. After some hard-hitting, heated jamming, the band was ready for the show down.

The Times Youth Festival Concert changed the band’s perception completely. Tatva featured alongside bands like Euphoria and Strings. After the memorable concert at MMRDA, there were only occasional stray performances.
In the month of June 2006, Tatva got its first commercial show on contract. The concert was held at the Chembur Gymkhana by the Rotary Club of Chembur Mumbai West.   After an inspired concert that had the crowd rising to its feet, roaring for more, Tatva by now had become a more commercial and awaited band than before.
By now, the commercial concert scene had opened up. Thus came the Chembur Durga Puja Concert. It was a great concert to put it in words. Tatva played with 5 members on stage – Amit, Abhishek, Anurag, Surya and Amilo, the new addition to fulfill Manasi’s vacancy.
The band then got off to a flying start. They played many concerts in Mumbai which made them a keenly awaited presence on the college circuit, with repeat invites from all around Mumbai.
In 2007, Manasi was replaced by Nagraj, Anurag’s childhood friend. Nagraj came in and quickly caught up pace and positioned himself as one of the pillars of the band. Aditya too by now had resolved all the differences and hence Tatva was back in action with six quality musicians- Anurag, Amit, Aditya, Abhishek, Surya and Nagraj.
In October 2007, Tatva played three back to back concerts which gave them a new dimension. They toured three places- Thane, Koparkhairane and Tarapur.

Today the band has been portrayed as one of the very few Sufi bands in Mumbai. The band is about to hit the studios very soon to record their very first debut album.
The journey is endless and shall continue into new horizons and new hearts…come what may!
